Truck breakdowns on the road - how do you handle them? - 0 replies

edwinmarks12 Posted by edwinmarks12 in General Edmonton discussion on Tue May 19, 2026 10:44am

Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking a lot about how unpredictable truck breakdowns can be, especially when you’re far from a repair shop. Recently, one of my trucks had an unexpected issue, and I realized there are so many ways drivers handle these situations differently.

Do you usually call a tow truck, or have you tried mobile truck repair services that come directly to your location? How do you decide which option to choose?

Also, what are the most common mistakes you’ve seen other drivers make during breakdowns, and what tips or tools do you rely on to stay prepared?

I’m curious to hear real experiences, success stories, or even horror stories-anything that can help us all learn how to handle breakdowns more efficiently.

First time using mobile truck repair - impressed! - 0 replies

ronaldspencer Posted by ronaldspencer in General Edmonton discussion on Mon May 18, 2026 10:18am

Hi all,

I usually take my trucks to a shop for maintenance and repairs, so using a mobile service was completely new for me. Last week, during a long-haul trip, one of my trucks started acting up on the highway. Normally, this would mean calling a tow and waiting hours at a repair shop, which could ruin schedules and cost money.

I reached out to SRB Equipment’s mobile truck repair team, and they were at my location faster than I expected. The technician assessed the truck, explained the problem clearly, and got it fixed on the spot. It was much more convenient than I imagined, and I got back on the road quickly without the usual hassle.

It was such a positive experience that I’m seriously considering mobile repair as a first option from now on. I’m curious – do other drivers rely on mobile repair services regularly? How consistent have your experiences been?

Got Stranded Mid-Route, Mobile Repair Saved My Day - 0 replies

jamesmoore12 Posted by jamesmoore12 in General Edmonton discussion on Tue May 5, 2026 7:07am

Last week my truck broke down in the middle of a delivery with no shop nearby, and I thought I’d lose the whole day. Instead of towing, I tried a mobile truck repair service for the first time.

The technician arrived pretty fast, diagnosed a fuel system issue on-site, and fixed it without moving the truck. During the process I found out the service was handled by SRB Equipment, which explained how smooth everything went.

I was back on the road the same day. Definitely changed my perspective on roadside repairs. Anyone else tried this?

Spacious Home Available for Sale in the Spring of 2026 - 0 replies

Duke21 Posted by Duke21 in Houses for sale in Hazelton on Tue Jan 27, 2026 11:02am

This home will be available to view early spring and will be available to move into during the summer. It was built in the mid 70's by a carpenter from Alberta and has approx. 36,000 sq. ft. of living space on two floors. Located in South Hazelton, it boasts 2 full bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 living rooms, a laundry area, a large pantry and a large den between the 2 floors. It also has a built in garage and 2 floor to ceiling dog kennels built inside on the ground floor. It had major renovations done about 8 years ago which included completely redoing the 2 bathrooms, the kitchen and the attached deck outside. Most all of the windows, mouldings, flooring and interior/exterior doors were replaced, along with the automatic garage door. The outside deck (12 x 30 ft) was replaced and a new electric furnace was installed 3 years ago which included an electrical upgrade to a 200 amp service with plenty of room left for additions. The house is very well insulated. The basement is finished and can be easily used for a renter if so desired with minimal changes. All major appliances are included in the price (fridge, stove, dishwasher, chest freezer, washer and dryer).

It sits on 6 lots of cleared land (approximately .625 of an acre) and has enough space for another house. There is plenty of privacy due to where the house is situated and large trees in the area provide enough shade for the summer months. A large woodshed next to the house can be used as a wood shed for the built in fire place upstairs or/and for storage of other items. It has a good working septic tank which was cleaned last summer and is hooked up to town water. The land is adorned with a smattering of coniferous trees and small bushes, some of which form a natural fence around the perimeter of the property. It has plenty of cherry trees which blossom each year, blueberry bushes, wild strawberries and lilac bushes as well. This land was all cleared 2 years ago and is suitable for further development if desired. This two story house is comprised of wood and stucco and the annual property taxes are very affordable.

The area itself is very quiet and there is plenty to do for any avid outdoorsy type of person. Two provincial parks adorn this area on either side which offer lots of activities for locals and travellers alike. This home is certainly worth your time to take a look at if you are interested in moving to the area with a family or with plans to begin one. Professionals may take advantage of the rooms for office space or to create a home based business. If you think you might be interested then please contact me to make arrangements to view or to acquire more information on this great opportunity before it is gone.

I was born in 1951 and I am a twin. My grandparents had a cottage there, as far as I know it was across the lake I think the corner was then called Owens corner and my grandparents had a cottage around that corner, their names were Augustus(Gus) and Alice Currie. My mother went there with them alot and took us with her so my father could meet us. I found out his family owned the marina there and his name was Leslie Muncer.
