My 3x great grandparents, George Busby Clarke and Marie Amable Fortin, who lived in Terrebonne, had 10 children. Two died in 1830 and four died, along with their father, in 1852. I’m wondering if there are records indicating perhaps some diseases that were rife at those time in Terrebonne.

Seeking information on Fortin family of Terrebonne - 0 replies
In 1821, my 3x great grandfather, George Busby Clarke, married Marie Amable Fortin (born 1798 in Terrebonne). They lived there after their marriage.
I know that I have an indigenous ancestor and I’m trying to identify this person. I have read that Fortin was an indigenous as well as French surname and I wonder if there is any way to find out if she was in fact from an indigenous family - and she might be the ancestor I’m trying to find!
