Browns of Miscou Island and Shippagan
I am a descendant of George John Brown and Mary Ann (Coventry) Brown. Their son, Henry Brown is my G G Grandfather and I have written a document about George's 12 children who were born on Miscou Island between about 1830 to about 1848. George and Mary Ann moved inland to Shippagan sometime about 1862 - 65 and I believe this is about when George may have died. He disappeared after the 1861 census. This is also the period when his oldest son Henry returned from the New Carlisle area with his wife and 3 children at the time to reside in Shippagan. My research continues, I believe some of the Browns were residing out on Pointe-Brulee somewhere since about 1860 to at least the 1900's
Henry's family eventually all headed south to Newburyport, Massachusetts between about 1880's to 1889. I am a descendant of Henry's oldest son, James Henry Brown.
I have written a book about "The 12 children of George John Brown and Mary Ann (Coventry) Brown." I consider it preliminary as my research continues using its release to solicit additional information from my readers for a final edition.
