Indian Status

Hello Everyone and Thank you for allowing me to join the group. Our family has done Ancestry.com DNA testing and became very curious about our heritages. One in particular my daughter since my ex-husband is in Montreal and we are in the USA. He had Indian Status and I believe it's through his father's mother and my question is can my daughter be registered? The family line of Bouchard/Guay then Guay /Nepton. Thank you for any advice.
